CHICAGO, Feb. 10, 2010 – MyFord Touch driver connect technology, launching on the 2011 Ford Edge, is designed to be powerful yet intuitive for drivers, blending strengths of the most proven interfaces in consumer electronics – including MP3 players and mobile phones – with a new generation of Ford’s award-winning SYNC system.
Ford SYNC is a factory-installed, in-car communications and entertainment system developed by Ford and Microsoft. It is based on the Microsoft Auto platform. The system is currently offered on 12 different Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles in North America, starting with the 2008 model year.
